We are a Gospel-centered, development organization and are an extension of the mission of Grace City Church (Philadelphia., PA), but as a distinct entity. Additionally, we are incorporated as a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization under the laws of Pennsylvania, USA.
Bobo Beck officially founded Grace Seed, Inc. in 2011, though the roots of the organization were cultivated many years before. After his junior year of high school, Bobo had the opportunity to take part in a month-long, cross-cultural trip to three different Native American reservations and he has never been the same since. Years later, with travel and ministry experience in nearly 40 countries and territories around the world, Bobo is now focused on developing areas in the Majority World (Africa, Asia, Latin America).
In the summer of 2009, Bobo met a young man named Oscar while visiting his school in Uganda. Instead of asking for money, Oscar asked for a friendship. A year later the friendship began to turn into a partnership as plans were made to help Oscar develop a long-term means of caring for himself, furthering his education, and ministering to those in need around him. Bobo has often said, “I can’t do everything, but I can do something.” Not long after and in keeping with that motto, Grace Seed, Inc. began. Within a few months so too did God Cares Farm in Tororo, Uganda.
Grace Seed desires to partner with individuals just like Oscar as well as schools and churches in order to help build their God-given capacities to be productive while equipping them with long-term solutions to alleviate the effects of poverty on their lives.
